Gut and Endometrial Microbiome Dysbiosis: A New Emergent Risk Factor for Endometrial Cancer

Endometrial cancer is one of the most common gynaecological malignancies worldwide. Histologically, two types endometrial with morphological and molecular differences also therapeutic implications have been identified. Type I has an endometrioid morphology estrogen-dependent, while II appears non-endometrioid differentiation follows estrogen-unrelated pathway. Understanding biology genetics crucial for its prognosis development novel therapies treatment. However, until now, scant attention paid to environmental components like microbiome. Recently, due emerging evidence that uterus not a sterile cavity, some studies begun investigate composition microbiome role in cancer. In this review, we summarize current state line investigation, focusing on relationship between gut inflammation, estrogen metabolism, different therapies.
